cross between a monkey and a cat
ummm, do your kids, i mean one year olds ....rearrange the furniture? well like the plastic kids table is always moving around the house. valen likes to push it around. then the dining chairs are rocking a lot and nearly smooshing him. he doesnt seem to understand that they arent going to slide along on carpet... but he sure tries and sometimes tips them over. and then there is the poang... justins favorite chair from ikea (he is dying to buy the mini poang for the kids) valen can get up onto it now and it tips over onto him. our house was so child proof until a couple weeks ago, nothing is off limits for him now though, he is kind of a cross between a monkey and a cat. he got up onto this hippo walking toy yesterday and looked like he could be a gymnast. i ran to get the camera but he fell over before i could get a shot. ya know those guys that throw some flour on their sweaty palms and ride the horse beam? well that is what he was trying to do. so hillarious to watch. he has amazing balance. there is also a stick in the back door to keep the "burgulars" out and if we forget to put it back he picks it up and twirls it around like he is some baton champion..... oh and there is a large speaker in the living room that he pulls out from the wall and then pushes over (all while looking at me saying "uh oh" and then spins it around and tries to pull out the wires. a couple weeks ago he had it out in the middle of the room standing on it.....
the only thing dahlia really tried to do at his age was touch the buttons on the vcr.. do people still have these besides us?
but the nice thing is that we dont have to vacuum anymore.... valen picks up the pieces of lint or crumbs or whatever and brings them to us, while he says "uh oh" . it is very conveneint since dahlia usually drops at least one peanut or raisin from her snack.... i dont really worry about him eating it. except for o's he just eats those on the spot.

That is the difference between boys and girls. Nothing is off limits to our son which started around 8 months old and now he is 21 months. It just keeps worse especially watching his older sister that are 5 years older than him and he wants to try the things they are doing. For example he is able to climb the side of the bunk bed and get on the top bunk but doesn't know how to get down yet. So just be watchful because he will fall and get many bruises. Mine has gotten more than my daughters did at his age.

Yeah my 1 year old boy is way more daring than my girl... He was so proud of himself for standing on a small box the other day...until he could not get off...started screaming for help! Funny thing was it was only about 3 inches tall!
