ready or not

alright, i dont think many of you are really prepared for the cuteness of valen jude. he is so adorable and has gotten more so over the past week! he went from needing to be held a lot of the time or be in his super saucer, to scooting around on the floor looking for toys to munch on. he is a mover and just wants to get going. i remember dahlia just sitting up against the boppy at this age and chewing on whatever we gave her, but not valen, he is totally different. i wouldnt be surprised if he started crawling very very soon. he gets around really good, but downt crawl quite yet. he actually isnt really interested in eating anymore either, he just wants to play. we will just lay him down and give him a bottle and within minutes he is turned over and trying to get away. he doesnt even care if we take it away either.... nuts! so he has been spitting up a lot more though! all that moving around while he is trying to eat, makes for a lot of spit up. yuck, i am not a fan (= we have been waiting for this moment for a long time though, the moment where he didnt actually want to be held and would rather scoot around! thank you Lord this day came so soon!

it will be fun to see him on christmas at my sisters house with all of the other kids and their toys. he is so much more interactive too. more like a little person who understands than a baby who just stares at things unintently. when i go to put him down for a nap, i just go into the room and he takes one look at that crib and turns to me and starts whimpering and squirming, it is funny. but he always goes to sleep. he was doing better during the day for naps, but now he is fussy for those and not at night. whatever, after all he is a baby, and he doesnt know the rules (=

he loves it when i clap. if he is fussy on the floor, i just clap in front of him and sing something silly and he is amused for a long time. or tickling him is adorable too. he is so extremely ticklish. we have to put up a video of him laughing, it is hillarious.

sleeping trouble

valen turned six months on saturday. it feels like he has taken a turn for the better overnight. the past few days he hasnt been as cranky in the evening and that is wonderful! but the only problem still is that he doesnt go to sleep very well at night. he wants us to hold him, and even then once he is asleep he still wakes up and cries. it is frustrating. we keep thinking we wont go in there, but he doesnt calm down. we have let him cry for a long long time before and he still didnt calm down until we ended up just feeding him to shut him up. and the only times he is waking up at night after he finally is asleep is when his is pee soaked. is this a boy issue or what? oh my goodness! sometimes the diaper isnt even full but he is drenched. so i think maybe his aim has something to do with it, plus he sleeps on hiis tummy. that is also very frustrating. so then we have to try all over again to get him back to sleep after we clean him off. this happens once or more a night. and if we end up feeding him to calm him down it just causes the same thing to happen again. a few hours later he is pee soaked again. maybe if he was sleeping in a crib that is bigger than a pack n play to give him a little more room to move around at night. he moves a lot. also, lowering him into the pack n play to sleep might be bothering him. he goes down for naps so great during the day in dahlias crib. i just dont understand why night time makes him flip out. maybe we should have the lights on when we lay him down so he thinks it is daytime. hmmm, any suggestions! or wisdom!!??
