This photo is from June this year. We went together to see her friend Kayla in a ballet performance. There were maybe fifteen performances from different age groups that evening.. Dahlia was so bored! Eventually she got down on the floor and started dancing when the hip hip dancer came out. She told me that was the best part!

Justin took Dahlia to a soccer game in town. The first half she asked lots of questions while watching it and the second half she was a little more restless. Very interested in the ball girls. She aspires to be a ball girl someday (:

She also showed off her running abilities to Justins former track coach. He was rather impressed (:

Dahlia lost her little best friend Samantha tuesday night in a horrible car wreck. We are so heartbroken for the mother who is also a good friend of mine. Dahlia asked us if Samantha can still be her best friend even though she is in heaven. so precious. Samantha wasn't just any sweet girl, she really was special to us. The first time our families met this was evident. Something about the way they played together and just clicked. Dahlia has lots of little girls she calls her friends, but samantha was her favorite and always had the best time with her.

Dahlia asked so many questions after I had told her what had happened... losing two special people in your life at the age of 4 seems so crazy! She is excited though that Samantha is playing with Augustine right now. That is a happy thought for her.

We are all grieving this sad loss and are feeling many similar emotions we felt last year. we Love Nicole so dearly and pray for her heart and soul to be comforted.

This past wednesday evening, dahlia was entering the living area. She somehow tripped and flung her skull into a corner wall. i saw and heard it all.. .it makes me cringe to think about it. of course she began to wail and was in hysterics. we were able to calm her down rather quickly unlike most times and the bleeding had stopped after just a couple minutes. justin and i both thought that it must not be as bad as it sounded since she was at somewhat of a peaceful state and no blood. we suggested taking a closer look in the bathroom but she was only more upset by that suggestion. eventually we talked her into it and as i pulled some hair away from her scalp justin and i both saw the damage that had been done.... justin says to me, "i feel light headed". the very next second he falls into the bathtub and on his way in, he managed to turn on the shower. i began to slap his face and yell "justin, justin, hey wake up!" or something like that, not totally clear there, but i usually try to contain myself for the sake of dahlia but i totally lost all judgement and continued to yell at him. it was baffling to me, his eyes were open but he wasnt responding, it was just like in the movies where someone gets knocked out and the other person is frantically yelling their name while smacking them. and you as an observer is like "how annoying"... its definitely funny now (: he was out for about fifteen seconds and that was a long time. i obviously knew he wasnt dead but gosh he sure looked like it. his eyes were slightly rolled back and bugged out! creepy!! ANYWAYS, dahlia and valen were both confused why i was yelling and why daddy was in the bathtub sleeping. so i threw the phone at justin and just said "call someone!" obviously he was no use to me so he needed to figure something out. at this point it was about 7 pm and no doctors office was open and we so didnt want to go to the ER. not only does it take forever but it costs an arm and a leg... pun intended... so justin took her in and she was a big girl if you dont count the 10 minutes of screaming she did while they numbed her scalp with a large needle and during the whole stitching thing... other than that she was very big (: after they were all done with what they needed to do, she says " that wasnt so bad" ha!! goodness gracious, this girl is dramatic! i think she was just scared of the unknown and her way to handle the unknown is to scream. we are working on that people!

we were hoping for a tragedy free year, but i guess we are starting off pretty rocky... i suppose we shouldnt cancel our health insurance just quite yet!

since this all happened dahlia has barely uttered a word about any discomfort. amazingly we have been able to wash it and comb her hair and she doesnt mind. so glad this injury didnt involve a literal arm or leg, that would actually be very tragic.

after it all happened, i was sitting there noticing for the first time just how many pointed edges there are in a home! who's idea was that!

"Can i go see him?" so i talked a little about death and what that meant. it was kind of weird but didnt seem to disturb her. she ended the conversation by saying "ok mommy, when i die i will go see him.....can i go see him tomorrow?" oh sweet dahlia jade, she is so special. she really has a love for both of her brothers, especially augustine and it makes me smile. we are going to take her to grave site sometime soon, i think she will enjoy that. the stone says

dahlia lives a portion of her life in make-believe land. a part of her brain doesnt come back to earth for a while and it is hard to communicate with her at that particular time. she has four imaginary friends. katie, crema, meatball and ikea. she is extremely consistent with all her friends and they really seem like a big part of who she is, it is hillarious! she even has beds made in her room for them! well there are only three beds so i am guessing someone has to share. tonight meatball wanted to sleep in the living room so she brought his pillow and blanket out and laid them on the rug. also bringing her dolls to keep them company. when she is in the make-believe zone there is just no getting through to her. you just have to wait it out! many times when she wakes up in the night she comes to sleep with us and later tells us "katie was tickling her and she couldnt sleep last night" or "crema wouldnt stop talking so i had to come in mommys room". she is quite adorable!

after the second time of dahlia successfully poo pooing (she insists on saying that now) on the toilet, i took her out to dessert and bought her a toy. we kept talking about it that we would be going to the toy store and getting some cake.... but what ended up happening was i was at fred meyer with her and there was a starbucks there, so i thought we could just split something little and hopefully she wouldnt remember about the toy store today. (it was pouring and i didnt want to search for a parking spot that would be far away) we went up to the counter and there was a bin of bears dressed in lamb outfits, dahlia immediately picked one up and snuggled it.... meanwhile i was trying to pick out something little for us to eat. they happened to have a small package of two shortbread cookies for like a dollar, i turned to ask her if she wanted a cookie and she had the lamb at her cheek saying "i want you buy this mommy". so i thought this was perfect, killing two birds with one stone! so we sat at a table and snuggled her new toy and ate our cookies and drank our water from a straw (dahlia loves straws) it was such a nice little time with just dahlia and i, she is such a sweet girl.

it really worked out well because i have a problem giving my kids junkfood and so buying her something there was killing me, so the shortbread cookies were perfect because they were made of like five ingredients, butter, sugar, flour and salt i think..... and they were little! so if i had to feed her crap, i am glad it was that! and i just happen to love shortbread cookies! (so cute) when the nurse asked her to do different things, dahlia politely obliged and smiled and actually talked! this is a new thing! she has been very shy up until this month really! she really liked the nurse and didnt want the doctor to come in at all. when we were in the room waiting for the doctor, dahlia played with every toy there and wanted to read every book! after her shots, she got stickers and i brought a granola bar to ease the pain... it certainly worked. then we walked out together hand in hand as chipper as ever...... what a successful trip, i was so thrilled!

then today i was heading out to my midwifery appointment and i needed to bring dahlia with me. she was very friendly to the midwife and her assistant and made herself at home right away. she was not shy at all!!!! she actually wanted the assistant to take dahlia upstairs to look around. and then later kept insisting that the midwife sit with her. while the assistant drew my blood, the midwife read dahlia a book to distract her, and she loved it! and even gave her a hug before we left.

this is such a big deal for dahlia jade, we are so glad she is turning a corner!!

you know what i hear right now? silence.

dahlia went to sleep all by herself tonight in who knows how long! she has been coming into bed with us every night for the past month at least around 3 am also. so we are just trying to get this whole sleeping thing figured out with her. so tonight is a big deal!! she is asleep!! and before ten oclock!

dahlia has a new friend named katie. she lives in her room, which conveniently is IKEA and sometimes she isnt nice to dahlia and dahlia comes to tell me about it. i see her often talking to katie while she is playing and involving her in her activities. oh how adorable is that to have a make believe friend for a three year old! i love it!! so my actual friend katie was going to visit today (dahlia didnt know i had a friend named katie) dahlia was excited. usually she is afraid of new people but took to katie very well. i think it had something to do with the fact she has her own little friend named katie . (= it was sweet though.

her favorite past time is to cook with her new dishes from great grandma davis. valen and her will literally play for two hours together going around the house offering us their baked goods. but if we dont eat it just right then she corrects us. sometimes we need to use a spoon or drink it instead of bite it. she is very particular about her pretending with others.

these are there new slippers from auntie jerika. they like to switch them and wear each others.

last night when i put her to bed, she was reading a book while i sat there next to her. she was just jabbering on and on turning pages. then she wanted me to read it. so i started to say a few words and she would stop me and say "no no thats not right" then she would explain how it needs to go and then tell me to start again. so i would start again.. "no no mommy, thats not right". hmmm i said , well dahlia i cant read it if you keep telling me i am wrong. then she looks at me really seriously and says " mama you can do it!" i busted up laughing!!!! she was so serious about helping me figure out how to read this book. she is such a mommy!! so cute!

since we put dahlia in her big bed, she has been very excited about potty training. i dont know if it was because of that, but it seems like a big coincidence that that very day she totally got the whole potty thing. she has been going in her potty chair/ big toilet since that day. we have a gate at the bathroom door so evertime she has to go she says "mommy daddy i go pee! " so cute! except to poo. i dont know what the deal is with that. she tells us that she has to go but insists on a diaper. so we put one on her and then she runs around the corner for about 30 seconds... then "mommy mommy... poopie!" (= then back into her elmo underwear. i will tell her "dont poop in your underwear ok" and then she replies " k mama, no pee elmo, no pee elmo" it is so cute. her little vocabulary is getting better but still rough. i love it though, makes things more cute.

well i do admit that i baked a batch of cookies that week she started to use the bathroom, and i would give her one every time she would go potty. they were the size of a quarter and made of whole wheat flour and honey with one chocolate chip per cookie, so it wasnt that exciting, but to her, they were gold! i had tried giving her treats before and she didnt care, but i really think it has something to do with the big girl bed.... she really gets excited about being a big girl. lately she doesnt ask for a cookie everytime she goes, she is just excited to go potty, we give her a lot of praise so that helps too. but we did run out of cookies a couple days ago and i have just been giving one apple cinnamon soy crisp if she remembers to ask for a cookie. she loves them too. they are definetely not as exciting, but if she thinks they are then that is fine with me.

speaking of the big bed, she is so funny! things change around here often, but basically we leave her in her room after books and such and a few minutes later she peeks out of her door and says "mommy daddy mommy daddy" in this adorable tiny voice. we try to keep from laughing. so when i come down the hall she runs and jumps into her bed giggling. i tuck her in and tell her not to get out again. of course a few minutes later she is back at her door, just opens it a crack and says "mommy daddy mommy daddy" and then runs away. oh it is so cute! so we have threatened her with the crib, and actually put her in it one night. i think she was tired of the crib because she was so confined, but now she can do whatever she wants to. she has definitely hit that supposedly "terrible two stage" well i dont know what it is, but she is different lately and is so strong willed and doesnt care if you punish her, she keeps doing whatever it is she is doing. and she has been really clingy to me lately. whenever she gets hurt or upset or whatever, " mama mama mama" and snuggles me for a long time. such an emotional girl! but i do admit i really love her needing me. it used to be "no mama no mama" when i would come in her room during the day while her and valen were playing, now it is " mommy pay mommy pay toy" all day long!

we had tried to put dahlia in a big bed a while back, but she kind of freaked out. since then we have been asking her off and on if she would like to sleep in a big girl bed like mama and daddy, she finally said yes! but also the past month or so she has been much more independent and she wants to do everything by herself, so it seemed like a good time to try again.. so we brought over justins old bed from his parents house and set it up and then also set up a different crib since valen broke off one of the bars on the other crib (= hopefully soon we can put them both in their at night ( valen sleeps in the pack n play in justins office at night right now, it is really hot in there!) and they can keep each other happy in the morning a little while (= and then MAYBE dahlia will take a nap!! (since valen wakes up about 730 and dahlia doesnt get up till 830 or 9, she will need a nap now)

right after she got up today we commented on how much of a big girl she is now, and soon after that she said she had to go pee, so she went into the bathroom.... i thought maybe this would be a new start for her... but sadly not. well she did go in her potty chair but a couple hours later peed in her underwear. actually i am ok with her not being potty trained quite yet, it is more of a hassle right now. in a few months would be a good time. so we are just waiting for her to "get it" and not rush it.

we are so excited she is in her big bed, now if she wakes up at night we can just come lay with her for a few minutes until she falls asleep... much better than letting her sleep with us and getting kicked out, literally! and now valen can have her crib too.

we have been slowly trying to potty train dahlia. at about 15 months she seemed very excited about going potty. so we bought her a potty chair and thought she could have fun sitting on it sometimes and getting used to it. but she never really wanted to actually go potty in it. the past few months we have been talking more about it and talking to her about it when we need to go and see if she will sit there next to us. she loves to sit there and pretend she is going potty or just wants to leave her diaper on and go in it while sitting on her chair. the only way she poops is around the corner away from everyone. she will run away and then come back and say "POOPI" and many times bring you a diaper and some wipes, it is adorable. so tonight i was in justins office and saw her heading to the bathroom. she rarely goes in there unless we go with her. but she opened the door and sat down. i asked her if she needed to go potty and she said she did. so i took off her diaper and told her i would be back in a few minutes. so a couple minutes later she comes out naked saying "pee pee pee" of course i was so excited and she had the biggest smile. she actually went pee in her potty chair! hooray! everything i have read about potty training said not to rush them, and until recently i havent even really cared either way. i actually thought it would be easier this summer if she wasnt potty trained because we will be at the park and out doing stuff a lot and taking her to public restrooms seems like such a hassle. but diapers are expensive and we are doing our share of filling those landfills, so for that we need to get her off of them. i think if i buy her some cutesie underwears she would be very excited to figure this thing out. the only problem is i dont think they make girls panties with cookie monster on them (= that is her favorite cartoon character right now. she does like elmo and grover too. maybe i could find some in the boys section.... that ought to get a rise out of some of you (= i am sure she will like anything i give her if i tell her they are big girl underwear.

one of dahlias favorite books right now is her Bible that my parents got her. it is geared for toddler aged kids. we have to read it twice every night and then a book called Thank You God for my Family. we didnt even push these on her at all, but it is neat how both her favorites are about God and prayer. we used to just pray for her but lately she prays some nights and then wants me to pray afterwards, it is adorable. especially since she cant really say the words right. she kneels down in front of the couch and folds her hands and this is what she says,

"jeeja be good gur an nigh nigh, amie" ok i will translate.

"jesus, be good girl and go night night, amen.

as you will see in part of this video clip is that dahlia does not wear barretts. well she does soemtimes for a short while but usually rips them out and then her hair looks goofy. i didnt want to cut her hair to have bangs but i ended up doing that tonight. the front part of her hair is always falling in her face and i had no choice)= but it actually looks cute now. i just was a bit nervous to cut it off. she actually lets me cut her hair now and does not even flinch. she used to freak out and i had to sneak it while i was supposedly drying her hair, but she caught on to my devious ways and then would walk around with a half cut hair do for a day or so. it is all finally one length too, it has taken forever to get that way. i was hoping for pig tails at age one, boy was i way off. valen has already had his first hair cut and he isnt even one years old!

kids are so funny. i remember getting bored so easily as a child and whining to my mom that there was nothing to do. no matter what was going on i always seemed to be bored. like going shopping and waiting forever for your mom to buy whatever she was buying.... my sister and i would hide in the clothes racks..... i am sure everyone did that. (= or going to the grocery store with my mom cuz i didnt want to stay home and be bored, but then i would whine she was taking too long while we were shopping. or after church my mom talking to everyone for like 15 minutes each, just when i thought we were actually going to leave she would start up a conversation with sally or betty or someone. so we would always take the keys and sit in the car and complain how they were taking so long.... why are kids always bored? why do they always need to be having fun? is it because they are so fresh and are so hungry for information and learning that their minds have to be stimulated?

when dahlia wakes up in the morning, it only takes about 25 seconds for her to see straight and then start playing. she wastes no time at all. from the time she wakes up to the time we put her in her bed, she is wired and excited. i bought her a coloring book today hoping that she would do something calm during valens naps, or at least one of his naps. she loves it, and we colored for quite some time. she was so purposeful in her coloring. she was actually trying to color the specific objects different colors and trying to stay on that particular object. maybe that is normal for two year olds, but i found it amazing (= usually during his naps i spend most of the time chasing her down the hallway, where she loves to run and either bang on justins office door or valens door. very annoying since he actually NEEDS his naps to be a happy camper all day unlike certain dahlia jades that we know (= so it is actually more work for me if he does take naps, because dahlia is twice as difficult when he is sleeping than when they are playing together. she is very nice to him now, brings him toys and loves to play with him, it is very sweet! dahlia loves to be tickled and teased, she giggles and giggles and that is the greatest sound in the world! she has such a hysterical laugh and i just love to hear it! she likes to get hyper about an hour before bedtime and that is getting really old. now valen has been getting hyper too around eight which used to be his bedtime.... shes teaching him bad habits!

alright, dahlia is two and she does everything i have been afraid she was going to do. up until the past week or two she was really a good little girl, but i kept waiting for her to turn into that terrible two year old that everyone was warning me was inevitable. it is very frustrating! she is just a constant stinker with a very STRONG will (= also she has become an extremely picky eater lately. refuses most things. only eating fruit leathers, spaghetti, bananas... she even refused pizza tonight!! but the good news is she drinks milk from a cup now! she never would before, she had been drinking it from a bottle till a few weeks ago. i know i know, i should have gotten her off it it earlier, but it was just too difficult. but she decided she was ready and i didnt even have to try. that seems to be how things are with her, if you rush her into something it doesnt work, but if we just wait for her to be ready, things go more smooth. hopefully potty training will go like that. she seemed like she was getting close to ready, but now she decided she doesnt want to. so whatever, she is only two and i will be fine if she gets it by the time she is three. whenever we put her on her potty chair, she strains and makes noises like something is going on, but then gets up and nothing is there, she is a good actor (= very cute though.

she still loves her brother a lot, but likes to randomly smack him upside the head, not so much a love pat as it is a "i need attention and if i do this, then mommy will come over and make funny faces at me and put me in my room, wont that be fun " grrrr, not fun at all..poor little valen has taken quite the beating lately, but i am sure he will return the favor to her once he is able.

Dahlia woke up screaming at 6am, so I ran to get her (before she woke up Valen) and brought her to our room. She did not want to lay down at all, i think she wanted to go out into the living room to read books, but i was too tired to do anything of the sort.... and of course justin is still warm and cozy in our bed (= so i went to go to the bathroom and she jumped into bed. she laid between us for a while a little restless, but soon fell asleep. she moves A LOT! she kept touching my face and coming closer to me, so i eventually went out to the couch. its not like i was actually getting any sleep anyways. so valen woke up around 8 and i fed him and had breatkfast and justin and dahlia were both still sleeping, so i took a picture. it was so cute to see. she usually has wild hair in the morning, but this morning was extremely wild (=

we are thinking of getting dahlia a big girl bed. just haventdecided which kind yet. every morning we hear her jumping up and downand running back and forth in her crib. i cant believe she hasntclimbed out yet, it is only a matter of time before she does. but if wedo put her in a bed, we would have to put a gate up in the doorway soshe doesnt come into the rest of the house at who knows when. and addmore toys to her room so she can stay occupied... and maybe a diaperand some wipes to clean herself up so we can sleep in (= we are justwondering if she will come to the gate and just yell for us till wecome get her.... so we shall see. it is so crazy that she is a big girlnow! she will be 2 in a month, oh my goodness!! she is becoming such asweet little girl.... i wonder if i will be saying that in a fewmonths? maybe we will be the luckiest parents around who dont have aterrible two year old (= i doubt it.
dahlia has never let usleave her in the nursery at church. every time we try she freaks out.even if we just go towards the door she gets suspicious. but a fewweeks ago she didnt seem to care. justin just left and dahlia didnteven look back. i came down later to bring valen in to play and shedidnt really acknowlege me. then the next week we took her to thetoddler class and she went running in! and when we came to pick her up,she just kept playing. this is so awesome! now it will actually beworth going to church! i am usually in the mommy lounge all servicewith valen so now that dahlia can be a big girl, justin will get toenjoy the sermon and maybe talk to a few people besides.

a week or so ago, in the middle of the day, dahlia stopped moving her arm. she started crying and wouldnt move her left arm. i thought maybe she bumped it or something, but didnt see any signs of injury, but she kept crying. i thought maybe she was just cranky from being tired or hungry so i gave her a bottle. that didnt help. so justin came out to see was going on and she just laid on his lap while she drank the bottle, crying every 30 seconds or so. especially when he would try to move her arm. so for an hour or so she was very upset and wouldnt move it.. then i started to play with her on the floor and she was playing but kept her left arm to her side. very odd! i kept trying to do things to get her to move it, but didnt work. then i laid down on a blanket and waited to see if she would copy me.... and she did. hmm her arm seemed totally normal now! she started tackling me and everything! justin came out from his room again and was very comfused.

then again after dinner i was getting her out of her high chair and she started doing it again for about an hour. but then she was just fine. but then AGAIN in the middle of the night she woke up crying and wouldnt move either one! then again in the morning her left arm seemed to be having trouble for about 20 minutes..... but then all of a sudden she was just peachy. we were so confused! either she is really good at faking an injury, or something was really wrong and miraculously healed itself.

a couple nights later she woke up at 11pm and was freaking out in her crib. so justin went in there and she would not calm down! she rarely wakes up in the night and hasnt done it for a few months. she used to always calm right down and go back to sleep fine. but this time she kept pointing at the light and the fan and stuff. we think she wanted to get up, maybe she thought it was morning. so eventually we took her out into the living room and read a few books to get her ready for bed again, but she was not into that at all. she wanted to play! after 15 minutes or so of her playing i decided to go to bed. justin ended up taking her into his room and worked while she played in there till about 130 a.m. and she wanted to come back out to the living room and read books. after that she folded her hands to pray (we always do that last thing before bed at night) then she went to bed...... i gues she didnt get enough play time in during that day earlier (=

I definitely don't feel like a baby anymore. Yup, I'm a big toddler now, I'm still learning to toddle though. I can stand up on my own, but I'm still scared to take that first big step without someone to hold my hand. Maybe in another month I'll be more independent.

My first Christmas was a real hoot! lots of new toys to play with and new faces to get to know. I finally got to meet my cousin Warner,(two months older than me) boy is he fun. A little too fast for me though, he runs all over the place. kinda inspired me to get busy with the whole walkin thing though... looks like so much more fun! It's too bad he lives in California, I don't know what country that's in but I know it's not close. I probably won't get to see him for a couple more years. I hope he still remembers me! )=

I got lots of great new books this Christmas. My favorite one is Mommy Hugs. My mommy reads it to me every night and we get to snuggle. I am learning so many more ways to snuggle. I love crawling up onto her lap when I get tired and letting her read me a story. Then daddy always picks me up and carries me off to bed. What a lovely way to end a long hard day of playing. I remember when I used to scream a lot when I had to go to bed, but that was when I was just a little baby, how embarrassing!

I had been putting off crawling for some time now. I figured I should wait till my little baby sister stopped making mommy feel icky all the time. Since mommy dearest has been feeling better the last few days I decided I'd give it a go. Boy is it fun!!! It's not as hard as I thought it would be, you just put one knee in front of the other. If I see something I want, I can just go and get it. Before I would just cry and hope that mommy or daddy would guess what I want. I was missing out on so many things: outlets, wires, the coffee table, the fire place, and the entertainment center... it really is entertaining. I was so excited the first day I was really crawling, I couldn't take a nap all day, and I wasn't very cranky either!
I just figured out how to stand up too. My cousin Jonas started walking today, but I don't think I'm ready for that, crawling is good enough for now.

I must say, this has been a stressful month for me. I hear people call me a punkin all the time; from my parents to people in grocery stores. I didn't think too much about it for a while, people are always calling me different names like "snuggle bear" or "snookie wookie". Then the last few weeks I've been hearing people talk about punkin carving all the time!! I'm not sure what it's about exactly, but I know it involves, knives, removal of guts and candles. Could it be that my parents would allow such a thing?!? Then last week during our monthly trip to Winco we bought two pumpkins which were big round and orange. I was relieved seeing how I am not big, round or orange. Now I know what a pumpkin is, but I still have no idea what a punkin is. Any ideas, the dictionary wasn't any help?

They wanted to know my name and how old was and they all told me how cute I am. This might seem like a nice situation; but it seems fairly superficial to me. They all like me because of my looks, which just add to the pressure to look cute all the time. If I go out of the house and my onesie doesn't match my pacifier, I get really embarrassed! I just wish that people would like me for who I am. If only people would just take the time to get to know me they would find out I'm more than just the cutest girl this side of Burnside.
Today is my two month birthday. To celebrate my mother betrayed my trust. She had spent all these last two months generally doing nice things for me. After today's incident I'm not sure that I'll ever be able to trust her again. The day started well enough. We got up a little earlier than usual. She got me all bundled up and put some cute clothes on me. I thought, "This is different, we never go anywhere this early in the a.m." as we approached our destination, clarity arrived. We were going to the doctor. The previous trips have been ok. It's certainly not something I look forward to, but I like my doctor and it's nice to see some other babies. Things quickly turned more insidious!!
There I was minding my own business when a villain arrives with three pointy items. She wasted little time in jabbing them into my legs. My cries fell on deaf ears. My mommy did nothing to save me from this foul beast!!! I can say with authority that this was the worst of my 59 days this side of the womb!!
Retribution was swift and sweet. When we got back home I was left in my car seat for a short time. I took the opportunity to poo like I have never pooed before. I successfully navigated my waste out of the diaper, down through a convenient crack in the car seat and on to the floor.
When mom picked me up she found a little surprise to clean up. The best part was that she didn't actually move the car seat for several hours. Boy was she surprised to find my little deed. I just hope that she got the message and that she will save me from future grievances!

Note the bruise on my right leg

There are some nice benefits to being a baby. For example, I never have to walk anywhere. I get carried everywhere I go. It's a pretty sweet deal really. Even better than this though, is kicking and punching. I can punch or kick anyone I want to, given that they are within five inches of my person. I just lie there and pretend I'm sleeping or whatever and as soon as they get close, BAM, foot in the ear. I know that I have to enjoy this while it lasts, I hear that it's uncouth for older people to just walk up to people and take a shot at their nose. But for the time being, why don't you come on over and try to give me a little kiss, there just may be a surprise for you.

Up to this point, my life consisted of three things: sleeping, eating and crying. It was ok, but I've stumbled upon another exciting activity, playing. It all started a few days ago, I woke up from a nap, I was done sleeping and I wasn't particularly hungry. I didn't need to poop and there wasn't poop in my diaper. So I decided that I would just lie there. Then I figured that if I wasn't doing anything, I might as well make it interesting. I'll admit that I'm not the best at fun yet, but I'm learning. So far I just flail my limbs around. I'm thinking about learning to use my fingers next, there are all kinds of things that look like they would be fun to hold. Mom is worried that I'm bulimic, maybe she's right, I do throw up every time after I eat.
The worst part is my head. Mom measured me the other day. My head is 14 inches and I'm 21 inches long. GOOD NIGHT! I'm two thirds head! Could you image if you were two thirds head?!? No wonder I can't even lift it up for more than a second.
I'm not too worried, Mom says I have inner beauty. Even though I've never seen my insides, I'm sure she's right.

I don't want to cause any alarm, but my parents are criminals. This week I received my first two pieces of mail. Did they hand them right to me and let me read them? No! They went ahead, broke a Federal law and opened mail that wasn't addressed to them. As it turns out, one of them was my social security card. This has identity theft written all over it. Next thing you know, they will be getting credit cards in my name. Then they'll be running for political office posing as me. I'm only a month old and my reputation is already being muddied!

Even though I'm a baby, I still get concerned about my parents. For instance, all day long they move all around the place. Then at night time, they stop moving for long periods of time. This scares me! I get so worried that something is wrong that I start talking to them till they start moving and talking to me. I'm sure they are glad that I scream at them and get them going. They don't always seem happy, but I'm sure they appreciate it.

I'm starting to have second thoughts about coming out so soon. Sure it's nice to see my parents, but back in the womb I was my own boss. Now, mom and dad are always telling me what to do. They wake me up every 2-3 hours to eat. I like food and all but I have a lot of good baby dreams that they rip me out of. Then, once I'm awake, they tell me to go back to sleep! Sometimes I question their logic. It gets weirder though, in the midst of feeding, they throw me over their shoulders and start hitting me on the back....i havent the foggiest what they want... but i am sure they mean well.

You'll have to forgive me if I don't remember all of your names, just keep reminding me, I'll get it in a few years or so.
My parent's friends and family seem absolutely lovely and I'm glad I was born into this situation. I look forward to seeing you all around, maybe you could come over and change my diaper sometime.

my mom is really scared about giving birth... well shes just deathly afraid of needles and the thought of getting an epidural makes her cringe! the other drugs they offer can cause harm to her and me as well.... we would feel more drugged up than with an epidural too. for those of you who dont know, an epidural is an IV that goes into your spine!!! ahhhh! well, shes got some more time to prepare for that, i wont be coming for a few more weeks...

The best part of living amongst the bowels is when my mommy sings to me. I try to let her know by dancing around her womb, I am a little constrained in here though... but i still get my groove on(= she might think that its a lot of kicking and punching but I really am not trying to tell her to stop.... as some of you have suggested. I know who you are... and once I am out of this cave.... I'm gonna kick you when you sing. Just kidding, I am young, but I can still be silly!

My favourite activites include, kicking my mother in the ribs, jumping on her bladder and throwing flames of fire up her throat (aka heartburn). I hate to treat her this way but how would you feel if your house was a uterus?

The baby has been movin' and groovin'. Not only has Jacquelyn felt lots of kicking, we have seen her belly blurp up in ways that gas could never induce.
At the ultrasound we saw every single part of the baby, from its fingers to its beating heart. It was rather amazing.
The doctor told us that everything looks good and healthy. Now we just wait for it to arrive...

oh my goodness i love being pregnant! Sure its annoying being sick and stuff, but its wonderful having a little life inside of you! especially knowing its a girl now, makes it more real! I found myself talking to her in the car, she was kicking me, so i said, "DONT WORRY HUNNY WELL BE HOME SOON AND ILL GET SOME FOOD IN THAT TUMMY FOR YOU!" and i almost started crying... I cant wait to hold such a special creation!
